In Japan, the term biotope refers to manmade water-side environments. The aim is to restore the lost Futaba ecology. This usage of the word is close to the original meaning in German. This is a serious effort to conserve biodiversity, involving the ex-situ conservation of endangered native species such as Mizuaoi and Yanaginukabo and the control and removal of invasive species. At the same time, it shows the future possibilities of biodiversity conservation in a hotel garden, something that likely has not been done before anywhere in the world.

Entrance garden

A symbolic garden watching over your trip.

The entrance garden greets you as soon as you arrive and sees you off on your journey. It was designed by Kazuyuki Ishihara with a motif that incorporates the nature of Futaba.
As the seasons change, it provides expressions of beauty while watching time pass and people come and go.
